旭川國際家具設計競賽

IFDA (International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa)

旭川國際家具設計展

IFDA (International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa)設計以木材為主要家具材料。

the theme of IFDA 2011 is “designed to last and be loved for generations”. 所設計的家具能世代被愛與流傳。

We hope that designers from around the world will propose designs that incorporate the two core concepts of improving our lifestyles and environmental conservation.改善生活型態與環保。

作品包括櫥櫃、桌几、椅凳與其它家具，必須最新未發表過的創作。 (cabinets, tables, chairs and others) entered must be newly created and previously unpublished.

所有個人、團隊或設計事務均符合參賽資格。Qualification Any individual, group or business will qualify.

參賽者不限數量。Number of entries

No limit is set on the number of entries from any one applicant.

Registration fee

網路報名費 ¥5,000 for each entry

郵寄報名費 ¥6,000 for each entry

設計所有權屬於參賽者。Copyrights, patents and industrial properties

Copyrights, patents, industrial properties and all other related rights for the entered works are reserved by the applicants.

作品進入最後決選的文宣目錄與展示等由主辦單位主導並擁有商品化的優先談判權。As for the works entered in the Final, all rights to the displays, use in official catalogues, and publicity for IFDA 2011 and other related exhibits are reserved by the organizer. The organizer also has priority in negotiating with the applicant when commercializing any works entered in the Final.

正式使用語文為英文與日文。Official languages

The official languages to be used during the competition are English and Japanese.

海外參賽者可以用本人的American Express, Diners Club, JCB, MasterCard and Visa等信用卡支付。How to pay the registration fee

Credit card payments are only accepted from overseas entrants.

Only credit cards registered in the entrant’s name can be accepted.

We accept the following credit cards: American Express, Diners Club, JCB, MasterCard and Visa. Provide the necessary information on the application form. Please note the following:

Your payment will be processed within one week of receipt.

The fee is non-refundable.

You will be informed of the registration of your application after we receive both your application and registration fee.

Deadline

All Internet entries will be accepted until midnight Japan Time (GMT+9:00) on Sunday, October 31st, 2010.

All entries by post will be accepted until the end of our business hours on Sunday, October 31st, 2010.

獲獎選擇Award selection

全比例原型將由比賽評審團執行，將由旭川工廠製作全比例原型，若有困難則參賽者須自行提供全比例原型。The preliminary selection process on the basis of submitted images and the main selection process based on full-scale prototypes is carried out by IFDA competition judges. The applicants whose design proposals are selected for main evaluation will decide, before going into the main selection process, whether they will have full-scale prototypes made by a furniture manufacturer in Asahikawa or will make their own prototypes. If the organizer judges that the prototype cannot be produced by a manufacturer in Asahikawa, the applicant will need to submit their own prototype.

參賽者需提供設計全比例圖與詳圖。The applicants will submit both full-size and detailed plans of the designs. The applicant will be informed of the due date after the preliminary selection.

主辦單位將負責原型製作的全部費用。The organizer will bear all costs of making the prototypes in Asahikawa.

The applicants will bear correspondence expenses and traveling expenses when they voluntarily visit Asahikawa for discussions on this matter.

Applicants who wish to submit their own prototypes to the main evaluation process can forward their prototypes to the IFDA Organizing Committee for judgment. They will be informed of the date and how to forward the prototypes after the preliminary selection.

如果原型未能在期限前被主辦單位收到，則取消參賽資格並負擔原型製作與運輸的費用。If the prototype is not received by the deadline, the applicant will be disqualified.

Applicants will bear all costs of making and transporting the prototypes to the IFDA Organizing Committee.

初選日期為2010年十二月中旬，將選出35件作品進入複賽。Preliminary selection process

Date: Mid-December, 2010

35 works will be chosen to proceed to the next stage on the basis of the submitted photos and the product outline given in the application.

十二月底將以電子郵件通知參賽者。Applicants will be notified of the results of the selection process by letter or e-mail by the end of December 2010.

決選在2011年三月中旬，將從35件全比例設計原型中選出八名得獎者。Main selection process

Date: Mid-March, 2011

The judges will examine the 35 full-scale prototypes and select 8 winners and finalists from them.

2011年三月底將以電子郵件通知參賽者。The 35 applicants will be notified of the results of the main selection process by letter or e-mail by the end of March 2011.

Exhibition of Winners’ and Finalists’ Works

Date: June 2011

Place: Asahikawa Furniture Center

Please note that the exhibition may be held in places other than the above.

Showing Design Submissions to Manufacturers

In order to give market exposure for the entries which are not selected for main evaluation, we will show the photos to furniture manufacturers in and around Asahikawa with the designers’ permission and their rights guaranteed (there will be no exhibition of the photos). Please indicate your preference by checking YES or NO on the application form.

Return of Works

The 8 award-winning works and those works made by manufacturer in Asahikawa shall NOT be returned and will become the property of the IFDA organizing committee.

All forwarded works (except the 8 award-winning works) shall be returned when all exhibitions related to the IFDA 2011 have finished. The organizer will bear all costs of transporting the works back to the applicants.

Others

Entry works that violate the following conditions shall be disqualified. If a violation is discovered after the result of the selection process is announced, the applicant may lose all entry rights to the competition.

The entry must not violate the application qualification rules.

The entry must not have an identical or highly similar design to any work previously announced to the public. The entry must not violate copyrights, patents and other related rights of other registered products.
